Nurruddeen Development is a ventures company for social benefit that started in January 2007. The company’s Mission is to assist with projects and business ventures that yield fruitful and equitable social benefit. We specialize in event planning; start-up ideas and resource support; problem resolution and negotiation strategies; residential and commercial development and media outreach. Since its inception, Nurruddeen Development, which stands for “Best Practices,” has been serving the community in a variety of ways.
In 2007 Nurruddeen Development…
- Celebrated 17 Years of talk radio with Family Tree 104.9 fm by launching Extended Family Tree, Touch 106.1 FM, 9 month weekly talk radio pilot.
- Was awarded a grant by the Mabel Louise Riley Foundation to start the Dr. Jacob Savage Youth Entrepreneurial Science Initiative at the John D. O’ Bryant School of Math and Science in Boston. The program allowed for 15 students to receive entrepreneurial training and start up capital for starting their own businesses. It was the first program in the state designed with a matching savings component and forgivable loan program for youth. A scholarship for students was also made available through the funding.
- Sponsored and assisted with the planning for the Malcolm X Art contest and talent competition with 4 BPS Schools, a collaborative effort with other partners held on the Roxbury Community College campus.
- Arranged for the Director of the International Museum of Muslim Cultures to speak to the Uphams Corner Charter School Assembly on the treasures of Timbuktu.
- Organized Community Meetings for the Neighborhood Development Corporation of Grove Hall (NDCGH). Community meetings were designed to address the issues of Foreclosure Prevention; and Police Stop & Search and the Criminal Offender Record Information Statute (CORI) Reform. We handled participant correspondence, media outreach, set-up and planning.
- Assisted Masjid Al-Hamdullilah with Sharika 101 Concept paper. Organized their Investment & Finance and Faith Based Development Workshop.
2008
- Assisted with sponsorship solicitation, planning, media outreach and was Mistress of Ceremony for the Prince among Slaves, Program and Documentary Premiere at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
- Designed poll cards for Feb 5th local candidate elections.
- Acted as panel moderator for Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries Annual Meeting, Cambridge MA
- One of 45 participants in Muslim, Christian and Jewish talks hosted by Kennedy School of Government and Harvard Divinity School for the impact of Global Issues on local politics and relationships.
- Speaker at MLK Interfaith Youth Service Day at Boston University

Acted as Mistress of Ceremony for the Muslim Inaugural Celebration in Washington, D.C., Thurgood Marshall Center
